Cancellare è autore di un grande recupero nel finale, ma troppo tardi per colmare il distacco da Van Summeren. Il migliore degli italiani è Alessandro Ballan, sesto a 36″. Damiano Cunego si aggiudica invece il 72° Giro dell’Appennino, che invece sarà al via della Amstel Gold Race, dove ha già vinto nel 2008.
