Jorge Lorenzo vince il Gran Premio della MotoGp di San Marino precedendo le Honda di Dani Pedrosa e Casey Stoner e riaprendo di fatto il mondiale piloti. Il campione del mondo, partito dalla seconda fila, si mette tutti alle spalle e taglia il traguardo con 7 secondi di vantaggio su Pedrosa, che nelle ultime curve del circuito scavalca l’australiano, leader della classifica. Al quarto posto finisce Marco Simoncelli, che precede Andrea Dovizioso e Ben Spies. Settimo Valentino Rossi con la Ducati che non è riuscito ancora una volta a dare il meglio di sè. In classifica Stoner guida con 259 punti, secondo è Lorenzo con 224, terzo Dovizioso con 185. Seguono Pedrosa con 150, Spies 135, Rossi 133.
